When Johnson & Johnson identified environmental responsibility in the design practice as important strategic matter to its long-term business plan, DISTINC_ was invited to freshen J&J’s brand identity. We envisioned a system intended to signal an emphasis on design while emboldening connections amongst the various divisions and businesses worldwide. The design-forward brand identity system plays out interlocking parts of the 100-year old iconic mark while naturally re-stating worldwide leadership.
We designed a brand management system for the Group of Consumer Companies — more than 1,000 individual projects in 80 countries — to ensure proper brand implementation worldwide. This comprehensive graphic standards manual features typographic naming nomenclature, color matrix, business communications graphic standards. All printed collaterals are to be produced using a minimum 30% post-consumer recycled fibers.
