Oakwood School

We designed a dynamic visual language that helped develop many deliverables to meet the needs of various departments at Oakwood School.

Oakwood came to us with an assignment to develop a visual language that felt like them. The expectations for the solution was to be clean and contemporary, with a DEI emphasis, a clear delineation between the elementary and secondary campuses and a K-12 edge. Simple.

Oakwood School was founded in 1951 by parents who wanted to provide their children with an educational experience that was rich in the arts, sciences, and humanities and challenging to their creative, intellectual, and physical capacities. They wanted a learning community which would foster independence of thought, intellectual integrity, sensitivity to the needs of others, and prepare students for participation in a democratic society.

Oakwood students’ favorite part of school—that is what the Annual Fund makes possible. The Oakwood Annual Fund helps cover the difference between tuition and the cost of the Oakwood student-experience.

Oakwood believes that a school best prepares children for the future by focusing on the quality of their experiences in the present. Teachers and learners should inspire one another, and that school must be rewarding in its own right. And Oakwood believes that young people’s feelings and thoughts should be accorded respect and dignity.
