KQED

A campaign theme channeling Abraham Lincoln's founding principle.

OF/BY/FOR is not a slogan. It’s a structure. A description of exactly how public media works — accountable to everyone, shaped by everyone, indispensable to everyone. The KQED campaign transforms a media organization into the public institution the Bay Area requires, and democracy demands. KQED and the Bay have always been synonymous, connected by a shared spirit of innovation, quiet leadership, and confidence in the face of personal, political, and societal change.

The campaign permanently secure KQED’s place as the civic infrastructure of, by, and for the Bay Area — serving its many communities ambidextrously, meeting this moment with both enduring foundation and adaptive capacity, proving that interconnectedness can work, and extending that proof beyond California as a model for what democracy looks like when public media does its job completely.

DISTINC_ delivered a vision beyond our wildest dreams and certainly beyond any expectations. They did a beautiful job. What we’re most impressed with is how deeply they listened, how intentionally they synthesized our background materials and the conversations had, and how quickly they did so.
